Instructor

Zanne Tenney Augur has 25 years in international marketing working in various international posts, including Paris, France, and Dubai, U.A.E. After earning a Master of International Business from the Darla Moore School of Business, Augur started an event and PR company in Dubai, running major events such as the FIFA World Congress and the Dubai International Shopping Festival.

Dr. Sang-eun Byun

Strategies for CSR communication, Small business and entrepreneurship, Cross-cultural marketing and consumer research Dr. Sang-Eun Byun is an associate professor in the Department of Retailing at the University of South Carolina. She received a Ph.D. degree in Retailing from Michigan State University. Before joining the University of South Carolina in August 2016, she worked at Auburn University for ten years as an assistant/associate professor in Apparel Merchandising. She currently teaches Retailing in Multinational Markets. Previously, she taught Consumer Theory and Research Method at the graduate level.

Dr. Jeffrey Michael Campbell

Prior to obtaining his Ph.D., Dr. Campbell had spent 13 years in industry, working for specialty retailer Gadzooks as an Inventory Analyst, and for 8 years with JCPenney, Inc. as a Merchandise Allocator, Merchandise Planner, and Senior Store Planner in Plano, TX.

Karen E. Edwards

Senior Instructor

Ms. Edwards is a senior instructor in the Department of Retailing at the University of South Carolina. Recipient of the 2010-11 Harry E. Varney Distinguished Teacher of the Year Award, she teaches in the areas of business law and law-related issues affecting retailers. Professor Edward’s research focuses on legal issues affecting retailers, including counterfeit fashion products.
Kristy Paradise Ellison serves as an instructor in the Department of Retailing in the College of Hospitality, Retail and Sports Management. Prior to joining the faculty at the University of South Carolina, Ellison served as the business administration program director and accounting instructor at the Technical College of the Lowcountry in Beaufort, South Carolina. Ellison began her career in academia in 2000 teaching at Aiken Technical College.

Daniel Kim

Instructor

Kim joins HRSM as an accounting instructor after serving in a similar role at Midlands Technical College for more than seven years. He is a three-time UofSC graduate, having earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting as well as a J.D. from the School of Law. He is also the owner and CEO of a Columbia martial arts studio.

understanding consumers in retail settings based on consumer behavior theories and methodology, human experience management in the innovative / international retail environment, consumer behavior in various shopping and communication channels, including omni-channel retail envi After receiving her Ph.D. in textile technology and management at the NCSU, Hanna Lee started her academic career as an assistant professor of marketing at Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania before joining the Department of Retailing at the University of South Carolina. Lee has taught courses in digital marketing, consumer behavior, luxury brand management, fashion retail management and fashion history at NCSU and Susquehanna University since 2020.

Michael B Moody

Prior to pursuing her Ph.D., Dr. Park worked full time as a marketing researcher and a brand consultant for six years in Seoul, Korea. Research interests are Service failure and recovery, multi-channel retailing, consumer’s technology use, consumer emotion, socially responsible consumer behavior.

Md. Rafiqul Islam Rana

Assistant Professor

supply chain management in the textile and apparel industry, emerging retail strategies and digital innovation, consumer behavior in omnichannel settings, consumer behavior in omnichannel settings, fashion informatics and sustainability Md. Rafiqul Islam Rana is an assistant professor in the Department of Retailing at the University of South Carolina. Rana joined the department after receiving his master’s and Ph.D. in textile and apparel management from the University of Missouri. He also holds a B.Sc. degree in textile engineering, majoring in fabric manufacturing technology. Before joining academia in the U.S., Rana worked in multiple full-time positions as a knitwear merchandiser, sourcing executive, product developer.
Michael Watson has more than 20 years of experience in higher education in various roles including instructional designer for graduate-level online leadership courses and departmental lead for leadership, communication, fashion marketing and management courses. Watson has initiated numerous articulation agreements between colleges, and was a subject matter expert for accreditation visits throughout the U.S. He serves as an active liaison between colleges and communities.

Donna H. Watts

Senior Instructor

Watts is one of the first instructors in the world officially trained to teach Wix website development in the classroom. Students will be using this technology in Watts’ class, The Changing Consumer Marketplace. Watts teaches that today’s marketplace must be both physically and socially inclusive. Students completing this course understand how to implement ADA requirements into both e-commerce websites and brick-and-mortar stores.
Daniel J. Williams serves as an instructor for the Department of Retailing in the College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management (HRSM) at the University of South Carolina. Prior to joining the faculty at USC in fall 2017, Williams served on the faculty at Shepherd University in Shepherdstown, W.Va., as an accounting professor for 17 years. There he taught courses in accounting principles, intermediate accounting, income taxes, and auditing.
