He is a co-founder of Capitol Nurse Practitioner Group in Columbia, SC 2014 - present. He is a Member of the South Carolina Nurses Association. He is also a Member of AANP. He practices at Dorn VA Medical Center, Lexington Medical Center, and Prisma Health Richland, Hospitalist medicine.

Beverly Baliko

Consequences of trauma and violence, Intimate partner violence, Interprofessional education Dr. Baliko's primary research interests involve the consequences of trauma and violence and mental health interventions following traumatic loss or interpersonal violence. She has conducted studies describing the experiences of family survivors of homicide, coping strategies of women survivors of life-threatening intimate partner violence (IPV), and has participated in the pilot of a retreat intervention for survivors of traumatic loss.

Amy J.c. Dievendorf

She is an active member of the South Carolina Nurses Association, the American Nurses Association, and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner and practices in the area of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine.

Dr. Liam C. Hein, PhD

He accomplishes this through his professional service with healthcare organizations. He is co-chair of the LGBTQ Expert Panel in the American Academy of Nursing, serves on the Diversity and Inclusion committee, on the Board of GLMA: Health Professionals Advancing LGBT Equality and on the Advisory Board of the Harriet Hancock LGBT Center locally in Columbia, SC. .

Laura Lancaster Herbert

Discovering Metformin-Induced B12 Deficiency in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes in Primary Care Dr. Herbert joined the College of Nursing faculty in the fall of 2019. She has been a nurse for over 30 years and has held many different leadership positions, including Assistant Nurse Manager, Nurse Manager, and Director while working in areas such as cardiac telemetry, step-down ICU, cardiopulmonary rehab, diabetes education, nursing education, and the emergency department. She is currently a certified Family Nurse Practitioner with the AANP and ANCC and works in Internal Medicine.

Dr. Dianna Inman

An Innovative Approach to Provide SBIRT Training (IAST) for Health Care Providers, Implementation of the Incredible Years Parent Training Program for Families with a Child with Autism, Enhancing the Role of the Primary Care Registered Nurse in Rural Kentucky Dr. Inman received her BSN from East Carolina University, a master’s degree in nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Arizona State University. Dr. Inman has received funding from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration to train nurse practitioners in screening, brief intervention and referral for treatment (SBIRT) and from the Human Resources Services Administration to enhance the role of the registered nurse in primary care.

Dr. Margaret Jamerson Selph

She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Illinois Wesleyan University in 2005. Dr. Selph teaches in the undergraduate and graduate programs. Most recently, she has taught NURS 311, NURS 324 and NURS 718. Dr. Selph’s research interests involve process improvement and addressing barriers to access to care among vulnerable populations.

Dr. Worthy has educated future nurses for 14 years and has been with the University of South Carolina College of Nursing since 2012. Dr. Worthy is a Certified Nurse Educator and an Amy Cockcroft Fellow.
