Karen E. Edwards

Associate Dean

Ms. Edwards is a senior instructor in the Department of Retailing at the University of South Carolina. Recipient of the 2010-11 Harry E. Varney Distinguished Teacher of the Year Award, she teaches in the areas of business law and law-related issues affecting retailers. Professor Edward’s research focuses on legal issues affecting retailers, including counterfeit fashion products.

Dr. Haemoon Oh

Customer experience valuation, Marketing measurement and modeling, Perceptions Dr. Haemoon Oh has years of outstanding academic and administrative experiences.Haemoon is a distinguished, influential scholar. He has published books, book chapters, and articles in hospitality, tourism, and general business journals. The majority of his scholarly articles appear in the discipline’s top-tiered journals. Throughout his career, he has sustained his research focus in the marketing area, with a particular emphasis on how customers value different product and service experiences.
Athlete development, Sport career transitions, Identity development in sports organizations Michael Sagas became Dean of the College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management at the University of South Carolina on June 15, 2023. Sagas came to South Carolina from the University of Florida, where he served as a professor of sport management and director of the Institute for Coaching Excellence in the Department of Sport Management.

Samuel Todd

People at work Todd's primary research interest is in people at work. Recently he has investigated the connection between various employee attitudes and work outcomes, as well as the attraction applicants have for certain industry job openings. Outside of sport industry contexts, he has also explored the relationship between strategic human resource management and firm performance.

Jana N. Xanthakos

Jana Xanthakos was born and raised in Germany until she moved to Raleigh, N.C., at age 9. After graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill, Xanthakos worked for Resort Recreation and Tourism Management as social activities director for the Crown Plaza in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Upon finishing her master's at USC Columbia, Xanthakos worked as the events planner and property manager for The Kiawah Island Club. After working in the private club sector, she worked as hotel sales manager in Columbia
