Dr. Rañales received his Ph.D. in Spanish from the University of Kansas in 2022, his MA in Spanish from the same institution in 2017, and his BA in English from the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela in 2015. His research interests include medieval and early modern Iberian literature and culture, book history, manuscript, and print culture, narrative theory, translation theory, material theory, visual theory, queenship studies, knighthood, medievalism, and neo-medievalism.
