Ritchie, Kimberly

Associate Professor

I am a marine microbial ecologist. I have studied coral and coral reef invertebrate diseases since 1992. In 2004 I began studying beneficial host-microbe interactions in corals and have since broadened these investigations to include beneficial associations and antibiotic-producing bacteria associated with sharks and rays. I have also, by necessity, become well versed in the effects of excess CO2 (warming and ocean acidification) on the marine systems that I study.
