Professor

Professor Gehrke's research develops an organic, bottom-up understanding of the principles of ethical communication, civic discourse, public understandings of science, and democratic practices. His work draws upon research in speech, communication, philosophy, anthropology, and political science along with current events and emerging sciences and technologies. He is the author of The Ethics and Politics of Speech (2009) and over a score of essays, articles, and book chapters in communication.
