Emily Manetta is a Professor and Director of Linguistics Program in the Department of English Language and Literature; Linguistics Program,College of Arts and Sciences. She earned a PhD in Linguistics from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 2006 and a BA in Linguistics, Islamic Studies from Swarthmore College in 2000.

Bilingualism, Second language acquisition of syntax, semantics, morphology, Syntax of Slavic languages My research focuses on (i) the cross-linguistic influences in processing for comprehension and production in subsequently acquired languages, (ii) the role of orthography and phonology in bilingual lexical processing, (iii) the role of lexical syntactic (mis)matches in bilingual syntactic processing.
