Sean Barth's, Ph.D.,academic interests involve building the club-management program at USCB and recruiting and placing students in positions of responsibility in the hospitality industry, primarily in the Lowcountry of South Carolina and in nearby Savannah, Ga.

Suzanne (Su) Lacombe Gibson

Senior Instructor

examining service quality management and creating a sense of “welcome” in service environments Su Gibson joined the USCB faculty in Fall of 2015 and teach courses in topics including spa management, luxury hotels and spas, service quality, hospitality management, marketing, and accounting. Many of her courses are available online through partnership with USC’s Palmetto College degree program in hospitality management. She is currently earning a PhD in hospitality management at USC Columbia.

Kelly Mccombs

Senior Instructor

Quantity Food Sanitation and Quality Control, Food Deserts and Food Swamps, Menu Analysis and Development Kelly McCombs is a Senior Instructor and course developer in both face to face and online settings for USCB and Palmetto College for the following courses: nutrition; food science; food, hospitality and culture; food safety and ServSafe; restaurant food production management. She is also an academic advisor for Hospitality Management and serve as a nutrition consultant for USCB Athletics.

Eva Smith

Associate Professor

Eva Smith, PhD, CHE, CHEP joined the USCB faculty in July 2022. She is currently serving as the Chair of the Hospitality Management program at USCB. She has 25+ years of experience in higher education and is excited to be a part of a world class faculty at USCB.
