Timothy J. Ashton

Department Chair/Professor

Literatures, Cultures Dr. Ashton earned his Ph.D. in Contemporary Iberian Literatures and Cultures from The Ohio State University in 2009. His scholarly activity focuses primarily on Hispanic Soccer Literature and Film. He has presented his articles covering the subject at academic conferences in the United States, Latin America and Spain, and he recently published a book titled, Soccer in Spain: Politics, Literature, and Film through Scarecrow Press of the Rowman & Littlefield Publishing Group.

Stephanie Ruiz Orozco

Assistant Professor

Stephanie Orozco joined the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures in the Fall of 2019. She earned her PhD from the University of South Carolina in 2018, and her MA in Spanish Literature from the University of Nevada Reno in 2013 and her BAs in Spanish and international Affairs with an emphasis in Ethic Studies from the University of Nevada Reno.
Dr. RaƱales received his Ph.D. in Spanish from the University of Kansas in 2022, his MA in Spanish from the same institution in 2017, and his BA in English from the Universidade de Santiago de Compostela in 2015. His research interests include medieval and early modern Iberian literature and culture, book history, manuscript, and print culture, narrative theory, translation theory, material theory, visual theory, queenship studies, knighthood, medievalism, and neo-medievalism.
