History, Political Science Allison C. Ellis is a Professor in the Department of History, Political Science, Philosophy and American Studies, University of SC Upstate.
History, Political Science, Philosophy Dr. Timothy P. Grady is an associate professor of history at USC Upstate. He researches various aspects of history and writes and publishes his findings in order to educate and inform the public about the historical past.
African-American, Southern and South Carolina history Dr. Carmen Harris is a professor of history who teaches African-American, U.S., Southern, and Latin American history. Her research and teaching interests include African-American, Southern and South Carolina history. Dr. Harris served a six-year term as a member of the Board of Directors of the South Carolina Humanities Council, and has served on the Membership Committee and Minority Committee of the Southern Historical Association.

McCormick is the Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and Associate Professor of History at the University of South Carolina Upstate. A native of North Carolina, he received a B.A. in history from Wake Forest University. He holds a M.A. and Ph.D. in history from the University of South Carolina. He has published articles ranging from reform in Macedonia in the early twentieth century to genocide in World War II Croatia to an evolution controversy in 1884 Greenville, S.C.
Dr. Benjamin William McCraw is an Instructor, Philosophy in the Department of History, Political Science, Philosophy and American Studies, University of SC Upstate.
Camille earned a B. A. degree in English and Public Affairs from Columbia College and a Joint Master’s Degree in English and Library and Information Science from USC. She also holds a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Library and Information Science. She has worked at Converse College and USC Upstate as a professional librarian. Camille serves as Coordinator of Collection Management for the USC Upstate Library and is library liaison for education, physical education, exercise science.

Andrew H. Myers

History, American studies Dr. Andrew H. Myers, an associate professor of American studies and history at the University of South Carolina Upstate, has published a book entitled, Black, White & Olive Drab: Racial Integration at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and the Civil Rights Movement. Myers also holds a commission as an infantry officer with more than 20 years of combined active and reserve service in the U.S. Army.

Tammy Pike

History Tammy Pike is the advisor of the University of South Carolina Upstate Historical Society. She graduated with her bachelor’s from USC Upstate and received her master’s from the University of South Carolina. Her areas of concentration include World War II, oral history, and women’s history.

Matthew Placek

Associate Professor

democratic transitions and the politics of non-democratic countries, effect of the internet on public attitudes and behavior in new democracies and autocracies Matthew is an assistant professor of political science. He earned his Ph.D. from The University of Mississippi in 2014 and joined the University of South Carolina Upstate in August 2015. He teaches classes in comparative politics. Specifically, he teaches courses on democratic transitions and the regional politics of Eastern Europe and the Middle East. His research generally focuses on democratic transitions and the politics of non-democratic countries.

Trevor Rubenzer

United States Foreign Policy, Social Media Dr. Rubenzer's research focuses on the impact of ethnic identity groups on U.S. foreign policy. He also focuses on the role of social media as a mobilization tool for individuals attempting to influence foreign policy outcomes. Dr. Rubenzer's Research has appeared in the American Journal of Political Science, International Studies Quarterly, Foreign Policy Analysis, and Politics.
