Animal Care Services

The Animal Resource Facilities at the University of South Carolina provide care and maintenance for all animals used by investigators. Preventive care is provided through vendor animal health evaluations, quarantine programs, and sentinel animal diagnostics. Special care and services can be provided upon request. Per diem charges must be charged to cover department operating expenses.

The Animal Resource Facilities have surgical facilities, an animal x-ray machine, and trained personnel available to assist investigators if required. Please give us as much advance notice as possible so we may make sure items/people are available. We will not have supplies on hand if we are not informed ahead of time. Non-standard supplies should be purchased by the surgeon.
